British Columbia is part of Canada, and Canada is not for sale.”Trump has repeatedly referred to Canada as a potential US state since returning to the White House. Canadian political leaders, including Prime Minister Mark Carney, have rejected the idea.The signs come as relations between the two countries have also been strained by Trump’s tariff policies. The US has imposed tariffs on Canadian goods, while Canada has responded with counter-tariffs on selected American products.Eby said the province is looking to strengthen the established Buy BC program to include products beyond produce and beverages.
