The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will begin the online registration process for its 2026 recruitment drive tomorrow, July 7, 2026. Earlier, the application process was scheduled to begin earlier, but the board revised the dates due to administrative reasons.Interested and eligible candidates will be able to submit their application forms through the official NBEMS website until July 31, 2026.The recruitment drive aims to fill 53 vacancies across various posts. However, the board has clarified that the number of vacancies may increase, decrease or even be withdrawn without prior notice.
Vacancy details
The recruitment includes the following posts:
- Deputy Director (Medical): 2 posts
- Junior Programmer: 1 post
- Junior Accountant: 4 posts
- Stenographer: 7 posts
- Junior Assistant: 39 posts (including one backlog vacancy for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category)
Eligibility criteria
Candidates should make sure they meet the educational qualification and age limit for the post they are applying for.
- Deputy Director (Medical): Recognised postgraduate medical qualification; maximum age 35 years.
- Junior Programmer: Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) or a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics or an equivalent qualification; age below 27 years.
- Junior Accountant: Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics, Statistics or Commerce; age below 27 years.
- Stenographer: Class 12 pass with shorthand and typing skills; age 18 to 27 years.
- Junior Assistant: Class 12 pass with computer proficiency; age below 27 years.
Application fee
Candidates belonging to the General, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Unreserved (UR) categories will have to pay an application fee of Rs 1,500 plus 18 per cent Goods and Services Tax (GST).Candidates from the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories and women candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. Bank processing charges will be applicable separately.
Selection process
The recruitment process will consist of a Computer Based Test (CBT) Stage I, followed by a Computer Knowledge/Skill Test (Stage II) for applicable posts.There will be no interview for Group B and Group C posts. The final merit list for Junior Accountant, Stenographer and Junior Assistant posts will be prepared based on candidates’ performance in both stages of the selection process.
