Mysskin calls Sasi one of the rarest souls in Tamil cinema
During his speech, Mysskin became emotional while talking about director Sasi and their long-standing friendship. “In cinema, there are very few people whom I can call a true ‘Sami’. In my 30 years of film life, Sasi is one of those rare people,” he said. Mysskin added that Sasi has always stood by him with genuine affection and respect. “Every month, he calls me, checks on me, and speaks highly of me even when I am not around. We may win awards and achieve many things in cinema, but one day we will all be gone. Sasi is different. Through his love and humanity, he will never truly die,” he said. The filmmaker also recalled his early struggles in the industry and said Sasi was one of the few people he trusted during those difficult years.
‘Nooru Sami’ leaves Mysskin inspired and motivated
Speaking about ‘Nooru Sami,’ Mysskin revealed how strongly the film impacted him. “After writing this story, Sasi called me first and narrated it. We discussed the script for days because it stayed in my mind,” he said. Mysskin further explained that he usually avoids watching too many films because a disappointing movie can leave him frustrated. “But when I watch a really good film, it fills me with tremendous energy. It makes me feel like I can go and make 25 more films. ‘Nooru Sami’ gave me that feeling,” he stated. Praising the film’s emotional storytelling, Mysskin said the movie had inspired him as both a filmmaker and a cinema lover, adding that good cinema always has the power to reignite creativity.
