The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has revised the schedule for NEET UG 2026 CAP Round 1 counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses for the academic year 2026-27. The revised timeline comes after the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) extended the schedule for All India Quota counselling.Under the revised schedule, candidates included in the Maharashtra NEET UG provisional merit list released on August 18 can raise grievances until August 20, 2026, by 5 PM. The state counselling authority has also reopened registration for candidates who have not yet completed the Maharashtra NEET UG counselling process.

Maharashtra NEET UG 2026 registration opens on August 20

Candidates who are yet to register for Maharashtra NEET UG CAP counselling can submit their applications between August 20 and August 21, 2026.During this period, candidates must complete the online registration and application process and pay the prescribed fee. They must also upload and submit all the required documents for verification.The CET Cell has made it clear that candidates who fail to upload and submit the required documents within the specified deadline will not be considered for admission or for the category claimed by them.

Revised Maharashtra NEET UG CAP Round 1 schedule

The revised schedule gives candidates additional time at different stages of the counselling process. The important dates are as follows:

Revised provisional merit list on August 23

The CET Cell will publish the revised provisional merit list for Group A courses on August 23 after completing the document verification process.Candidates who register during the reopened registration window will also be given an opportunity to raise objections or grievances against the revised provisional merit list. The grievance window for these newly registered candidates will remain open until 5 PM on August 24.The final merit list and seat matrix are scheduled to be released on August 25.

Choice filling to begin from August 26

Once the final merit list and seat matrix are published, eligible candidates will have to enter their preferred colleges and courses for CAP Round 1.The choice-filling window will remain open from August 26 to August 29, 2026, until 5:30 PM. Candidates should carefully arrange their preferences because the choices submitted during this stage will play an important role in the seat-allotment process.The CAP Round 1 seat allotment result is scheduled to be announced on August 30.

Physical joining from August 31

Candidates allotted seats in CAP Round 1 will have to complete the admission process by physically joining the allotted college. The joining window will open on August 31 and continue until September 4, 2026, up to 5:30 PM.Candidates should keep their documents ready and follow the instructions issued by the CET Cell and the allotted medical or dental college to avoid any last-minute problems.The revised schedule provides candidates with another opportunity to complete the Maharashtra state counselling process.
