The much-awaited film has been titled ‘Inji Vellam’, and the makers also unveiled its first-look poster. The announcement has created fresh interest around the project, which marks Mani Ratnam’s next directorial after Thug Life. The film is scheduled to hit theatres in January 2027, adding to the anticipation surrounding the new collaboration.

The new film brings together several familiar names from Mani Ratnam’s filmmaking circle, while also introducing some fresh collaborators. AR Rahman is composing the music, continuing his long association with the director. Interestingly, cinematographer Avik Mukhopadhyay has joined Mani Ratnam for this film. He is known for his work on movies such as ‘Pink’ and ‘Sardar Udham.’

‘Inji Vellam’ is also notable for bringing Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi together under Mani Ratnam’s direction for the first time.
