About Daryl Hall’s case with John Oates
As per the recent update for the pop duo, Hall and Oates have had a major falling out after the latter sold off his half of their joint venture. This resulted in a legal feud between the two former band members, which later came to an end in August last year. While the case ended in arbitration, no details were shared about what happened or how a settlement was reached between the two legal entities in the case.Hall shared a declaration online, which read, “There is no amount of money that could compensate me for being forced to partner with an entity that I did not agree to partner with, and whose business model does not comport with my views.”The case had been ongoing since November 2023, when Hall initially sued Oates for planning to sell his half of their joint venture to a music production company. Hall has mainly been focusing on his solo music business since then.
More about Daryl Hall
Hall has been a part of the music industry for more than 50 years now. He first started immersing himself in the music scene when he was attending Temple University in Philadelphia in the early 60s. He started off by working with The Templetons, a musical group formed by a couple of college students. He also worked on creating music with a lot of bands and solo artists at the time, before dropping out of college and starting his own band, Gulliver. The rock band did not last long; however, his journey was far from over. After meeting John Oates in 1967, the duo slowly formed a bond and started their pop-rock duo Hall & Oates in the 70s.
