The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has announced a one-time “mercy chance” examination for those who were unable to clear their Class 10 or Class 12 board exams over the years. The online registration process began on April 27 and is now open on the board’s official website. This special provision is aimed at giving a final opportunity to candidates who had previously fallen short, allowing them to complete their school education and move forward academically or professionally.
Who can apply for the mercy chance?
As per the notice published by the board, the scheme will be applicable to all candidates enrolled either in regular or open schools who sat for the PSEB exams from March 2010 to March 2025. Nevertheless, there is one important criterion, which is that the candidate should have passed at least one subject in his previous attempt. The board has identified three types of eligible candidates:
- Those who have exhausted all their chances of passing the compartment/reappearing exams
- Students who failed but were able to pass at least one subject in their main examination
How to apply
The application process has been kept straightforward. Candidates are required to visit the official PSEB website and access the examination form along with detailed guidelines. Applicants must enter their previous roll number, fill in personal details, select subjects they wish to reappear for, and complete the payment process. The board has clearly stated that incomplete applications, especially those without successful fee payment, will not be accepted. Students are advised to complete the process well before the deadline to avoid technical issues at the last moment.
