Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan recently opened up about their personal and professional lives. The filmmaker also shared his experience working with the former superstar Govinda. During the interaction, the actor stated that while writing a script for the movie, his father would imagine how Govinda would perform that particular scene.
Varun Dhawan opens up about being compared to Govinda in David Dhawan films
The last episode of Kapil Sharma‘s comedy show featured Varun Dhawan and his filmmaker father, David Dhawan, as guests. During the candid interaction, the director shared, “I have done 17 films with Govinda; all have been superhits. I believe one of the best actors I have worked with is Govinda.”
Varun quickly chimed in, “Whatever scene gets written, every scene he remembers Govinda, he thinks how Chichi Bhaiyya would do the scene. Then I tell him that I have to perform for my audience too, but I have a very tall order to live up to.”The actor shared that his father would always give references of how Salman Khan, Govinda, or Anil Kapoor would do a particular scene. He added, “But I have to find out how Varun would do that scene.”
