Putin India Visit Live Updates: Russian President Vladmir Putin, who is on a two-day visit to India, has arrived at Hyderabad House for bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier on Friday, he was welcomed with the ceremonial Guard of Honour by the President’s Bodyguard (PBG) at Rashtrapati Bhavan. He was received by President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the venue. After that, he visited Rajghat in New Delhi to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi.

Europe urges Delhi to lean on Putin to end Ukraine war: Several envoys and officials of European capitals are learnt to have “privately” urged the Indian government over the last few days to lean on Putin to end the war. The Indian Express has learnt that this was conveyed “politely” and “subtly” by the envoys and officials of many European countries, including some in eastern Europe, who view this war as a threat to their existence and European security. Sources said the gist of the message to Delhi from these European envoys and capitals is: “Putin is a friend of yours, he listens to you, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that solutions can’t be found on the battlefield, so please ask him to stop the war.”

Putin’s India visit: PM Modi received President Vladimir Putin at Palam Airport on Thursday. The two leaders exchanged a warm handshake, shared a hug and greeted each other before leaving together in the same car for 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, the official residence of the Prime Minister. PM Modi also hosted a dinner for President Putin at his official residence. During the visit, which is Russian President’s first visit to the country since the start of the war in Ukraine, Russia and India are set to sign several agreements to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various areas, including healthcare and trade, during Putin’s visit.

Russian President Vladmir Putin has arrived at Hyderabad House, New Delhi, where he will take part in bilateral discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The two leaders are likely to unveil a declaration for the Development of Strategic Areas of India-Russia Economic Cooperation until 2030, move forward on a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union, seal a labour mobility agreement, and team up on Arctic shipbuilding, The Indian Express has learnt.

After the ceremonial Guard of Honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Russian President will be headed towards Rajghat. After Rajghat, he will head to Hyderabad House for the bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Both the ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan and tribute at Rajghat are part of the State visit protocol.
