The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has made public the NEET PG 2025 Round 2 seat allotment result on December 26, 2025. A total of 4,789 candidates have been allotted seats in various government and private medical colleges spread across the state in this round. On the other hand, 2,672 candidates have not been able to secure any seat due to mismatches between their choice of seats and available vacancies or because their merit was lower than the cutoff for their preferred courses.Those candidates who have been allotted seats should take admission in their colleges from December 26 to December 30 by completing the necessary formalities. The candidates who did not get seats or want to change their choices can participate in Round 3 counselling, which is going to be conducted from the beginning of January 2026.
Maharashtra NEET PG round 2 seat allotment overview
The CET Cell released the Round 2 provisional seat allotment list on its official portal. Candidates who got seats need to report to their allotted colleges for verification and fee submission by December 30, 2025 (5:30 pm). They also need to complete the “Status Retention Form” before reporting. Candidates who missed seats
A total of 2,672 candidates could not secure a seat in this round. Most of these candidates either had lower merit or their choice preferences did not match available seats. These candidates now have an opportunity to participate in Round 3 counselling and try to secure a seat in the next phase.
Round 3 counselling schedule
The Maharashtra NEET PG counselling round 3 will begin in January 2026. Key dates are:
- Registration and fee payment: January 4–6, 2026
- Choice filling and document upload: January 4–6, 2026
- Seat matrix publication: January 7, 2026 (tentative)
- Choice locking: January 8–10, 2026
- Third selection list declaration: January 12, 2026
- Reporting and joining: January 13–17, 2026
Candidates who did not get a seat in Round 2 or want a better college can register online, pay fees, and fill their choices during the schedule mentioned above.
