Netflix’s animated hit ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ made history at the 98th Academy Awards after its golden run at the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards. The film, on Thursday, scored a double nomination for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song titled ‘Golden’.

This nomination marks a major milestone as it is also the first film with a Korean-Canadian director Maggie Kang to achieve this level of recognition and the first K-Pop song in history to receive an Oscar nomination.

Releasing an official statement from the team, the makers took to the film’s official Instagram handle to say, “THANK YOU to the Academy for nominating KPop Demon Hunters for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song. And thank YOU the one reading this. We could never have gotten here without our fans’ support.”
