Dhurandhar Movie Review, Rating and Release Live Updates: Actor Ranveer Singh has made a grand comeback on the big screen with Aditya Dhar’s spy-actioner Dhurandhar.

Dhurandhar Movie Review, Rating and Release Live Updates: After a two-year-long wait, Ranveer Singh, who celebrates 15 years in the film industry this December, has made a grand comeback on the big screen with Aditya Dhar’s spy-actioner Dhurandhar. The film’s trailer and promos have already ignited social media, generating considerable buzz among fans. Boasting an ensemble cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, the makers have deliberately kept the plot under wraps, ensuring audiences experience the story firsthand in theatres. From the trailer, it appears the film draws inspiration from real-life incidents, geopolitical tensions, and covert operations conducted by RAW, particularly Operation Lyari: a government-led crackdown on crime syndicates in Karachi, Pakistan.
Earlier speculation suggested the film was based on the life of the late Army officer Major Mohit Sharma. However, filmmaker Aditya Dhar took to X to dismiss these claims. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has also cleared the film for release, following a re-examination prompted by objections from Major Sharma’s parents. The Delhi High Court had directed the CBFC to consider their concerns, which alleged the movie mirrored the late officer’s life. After review on Tuesday, December 2, the board confirmed that Dhurandhar is a work of fiction with no biographical connection to Major Sharma.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the film has received an A certificate and clocks in at three hours, thirty-four minutes, and one second, making it the longest Bollywood release in 17 years. The film’s soundtrack, composed by Shashwat Sachdev with lyrics by Irshad Kamil, has already created a stir online. Notably, the title track is a remake of the 1995 song “Na Dil De Pardesi Nu,” while “Ishq Jalakar” (Karvaan), a recreated version of the Hindi qawwali “Na To Karvan Ki Talash Hai” from Barsaat Ki Raat, is topping charts. Dhurandhar also marks Aditya Dhar’s second directorial venture after the massive success of Uri: The Surgical Strike.
Dhurandhar movie review live updates: Fan says Ranveer Singh film ‘ends with part 2 glimpse releasing on March 2026’
User @ShyamkrishnanB took to X and wrote, “#dhurandhar is a super long watch which unfolds like an epic saga and is divided into chapters. Full 1st half and about 70% of the second half is world building and it’s takes its own pace which makes it an extreme slow burner. But what it culminates towards is very satisfying and will make your adrenaline pump like anything. One specific part where it’s just text and audio recording on the screen is very haunting and disturbing(we all have heard those before but it hits different here). From there we yearn for something which gets satisfied. Ends with part 2 glimpse releasing on March 2026. @RanveerOfficial has done a phenomenal performance in this and defenitely will have more in the store for part 2. #akshaykhanna comes with an aura but felt weak for some reason. #arjunrampal comes with a cold menace. #sanjaydutt also has done a good job in his ruthless character. The DCP is 2K and it clearly shows in a 4K PXL screen. It’s very soft looking and lacks definition. Music tracks are super energetic and adds pump to the whole saga.”
