The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) is all set to publish the first seat allotment and merit list of CLAT 2026 tomorrow on the website consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The candidates will be able to check their allotment on the website by entering their login credentials. The first merit list will consist of the names of the candidates, allotted NLUs, and the particular courses.There would be tough competition in the first cut-off list of CLAT 2026. Candidates should check their seat allocation as soon as the list appears. A downloadable format of the first seat allotment will be made available on the official site to proceed with the rest of the procedure of seat allocation.How to access and download the first seat allotmentTo find out the first seat allotment in CLAT 2026, candidates need to log in to the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in. After that, they would be able to view the list and download it by clicking on the link provided for the first allotment result. The list would be available on their screen after they log in using their credentials. Candidates would be able to see if the seat allotted is for the course that they have applied for.Freeze, Float, and Exit options explained A total of three options are provided in the allotment procedure in CLAT 2026: “Freeze, Float, and Exit.” In “Freeze,” a candidate can reserve their seat in the NLU and course allotted. Float enables candidates to accept the current seat but remain eligible for a higher-preferred NLU or course in later rounds. Exit allows candidates to withdraw from the counselling process entirely if they do not wish to continue with the current allotment.

Fee structure and payment detailsThe confirmation fee, which is non-refundable, is to be paid by the candidate for securing their seat. The confirmation fee is Rs 20,000 and is also subtracted from the tuition fee. The counseling fees that were to be paid at the time of registration were Rs 20,000 for SC & ST candidates and Rs 30,000 for general category candidates. The balance tuition fee is also to be paid to the respective NLU by May 2026.Required documents for verificationAs an applicant, the requirements to be prepared are the soft copy of the CLAT 2026 admit card, score card, class 10th, 12th mark sheets, caste certificate (for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD), domicile certificate (in case of NLUJAA), and the NLAT admit card.The first seat allotment result in CLAT 2026 will give candidates essential information that will make it easier for them to complete the admission process efficiently.
