NEW DELHI: India wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav is known for making frequent appeals during his spells. He is also often seen urging his captains to go for DRS reviews — calls that do not always work in India’s favour.Former India captain Rohit Sharma was recently asked if he had any advice for Kuldeep ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup next month, especially with team management facing a selection call between Kuldeep and Varun Chakaravarthy.
The former T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy-winning skipper, fondly known as the ‘Hitman’, responded in a straightforward manner, albeit with a cheeky smile.“The biggest challenge will be how they play them together, combination agar banana ho toh dono ko saath me aap tabhi khela sakte ho jab aap do hi seamer ke saath khelo (If you want to build a combination, you can only play both of them when you go in with just two seamers.)”Rohit was then asked if he had any advice for Kuldeep regarding his tendency to push for DRS calls. Here’s what Rohit Sharma had to say:“Koi advice nahi hai bhaisab ko. Ball daal apna chup chap aur peeche ja, har ball pe you can’t appeal yaar (There’s no advice for him. Just bowl your ball quietly and go back. You can’t appeal on every delivery.)”WATCH:Kuldeep featured in the recently concluded three-match ODI series against New Zealand, which India lost 1-2. The left-arm wrist-spinner picked up three wickets across the three matches.Kuldeep Yadav has been a regular member of the Indian team across formats for several years.
