Candace Owens and Turning Point USA are again at the center of a loud online storm. This time, it started after a YouTuber said the group sent him a legal warning. On Sunday, January 18, YouTube creator Zach De Gregorio, who runs the channel Wolves and Finance, claimed that Turning Point USA (TPUSA) sent him a cease and desist letter. He said the letter came after he raised questions about the group’s finances and drone use at an event.Soon after, Candace Owens, a political commentator and former TPUSA ally, reacted strongly. On X, she called the legal move a “terrible idea” and openly mocked the organization’s public relations strategy. Candace Owens questioned why TPUSA would take legal action instead of staying silent. She also offered her own services, saying she could help fix what she described as repeated PR mistakes.

Candace Owens reacts as Zach De Gregorio alleges legal pressure from Turning Point USA

According to Zach De Gregorio, TPUSA accused him of making false and harmful claims. In a January 18 YouTube video, he said the organization told him that only one drone was allowed at the Utah Valley University event for media use. TPUSA also claimed his comments were defamatory, he said.Earlier, De Gregorio had pointed out mixed statements about drone use. He referenced comments from Frank Turek, who told Megyn Kelly that drones were present. At the same time, Brian Harpole, the head of Charlie Kirk’s security, said on a podcast that drones were not allowed because the university is close to an airport. An X user later supported De Gregorio’s concerns and questioned TPUSA’s explanation. That post caught Candace Owens’ attention.Owens replied with a sharp message on X, writing:“Difficult to put into words how terrible of an idea it was for Turning Point USA to send out this Cease and Desist letter. I’m at the point where I think someone internally absolutely detests Erika and permanently feeds her terrible ideas. It’s the only thing that makes sense at this point.”She added another post, offering help:“I again offer my consulting services to TPUSA. For a monthly retainer, we can end this corporate show.”Candace Owens has criticized TPUSA many times since Charlie Kirk’s death. On her podcast, she also mocked the group’s public response to claims involving Fort Huachuca. She questioned messages sent by Andrew Kolvet, TPUSA’s spokesperson, and said the replies looked rushed. Owens claimed that a third party confirmed to her that Erika Kirk was seen near the military base before Kirk’s death. These claims caused major debate online. TPUSA has not responded publicly to Owens’ latest remarks or to De Gregorio’s claims.
