Applications for the Indian Navy 10+2 B.Tech Cadet Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission) are closing today on the official recruitment portal joinindiannavy.gov.in. Eligible unmarried men and women candidates can submit their online applications before the window closes.The entry is for the course commencing in Jul 2026 and offers an opportunity to undergo a four-year B.Tech programme at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. The scheme is open to candidates who meet the prescribed nationality, age, educational and medical standards laid down by the Government of India and the Indian Navy.Vacancies and age eligibilityA total of 44 tentative vacancies have been notified for the Executive and Technical branches, with a maximum of seven vacancies reserved for women candidates. Applicants must have been born between January 02, 2007 and July 01, 2009, both dates inclusive. Branch allocation between Executive and Technical (Engineering and Electrical) will be undertaken at the Indian Naval Academy based on service requirements.Educational qualification and eligibility criteriaCandidates must have passed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 pattern) or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. The candidate should have a minimum of 70 percent aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and at least 50 percent marks in English at Class X or Class XII. Only candidates who have appeared for the JEE MAIN 2025 exam for B.E or B. Tech are eligible to apply since shortlisting will be based on the JEE MAIN All India Common Rank List 2025 for the Service Selection Board.Selection process and details about SSBNaval Headquarters will select candidates in order of merit from the declared cut-off of JEE-MAIN Common Rank List for SSB interview. SSB interviews for shortlisted candidates are scheduled to be held at Bangalore, Bhopal, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam from Mar 2026 onwards. Intimation regarding SSB selection will be sent through email and SMS. Change of SSB centre or dates is not permitted. AC three-tier rail fare is admissible for candidates appearing for SSB for the first time for this entry.Training, degree and service conditionsSelected candidates will be inducted as cadets for a four-year B.Tech course in Applied Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electronics and Communication Engineering, as per Naval requirements. The B.Tech degree will be awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University. The entire cost of training, including books, clothing and messing, will be borne by the Indian Navy.Procedures for online application1.
