India had a productive day at the Asian Games 2026 on Thursday, adding five medals to its tally across athletics, rowing, shooting and wushu.The biggest boost came from athletics, where India won two medals. The mixed 4x400m relay team of TS Manu, MR Poovamma, Vishal TK and Vithya Ramraj won silver, while Seema claimed bronze in the women’s 10,000m.Seema’s medal was India’s first athletics medal at the Games and also the country’s first women’s 10,000m medal at the Asian Games since 2010. She clocked 32:50.05 to finish behind Bahrain’s Winfred Yavi and Japan’s Nozomi Tanaka.The mixed relay quartet clocked 3:14.46 to finish second behind Bahrain, which won gold in a Games record 3:12.87. It was India’s third consecutive medal in the event after gold in 2018 and silver at the previous Asian Games.
Roshibina adds another Wushu silver
Roshibina Devi Naorem also added a silver medal to India’s tally in the women’s 60kg sanda event. She lost 0-2 to China’s Zhang Xiaoyu in the final, with Zhang winning both rounds 5-0.It was Roshibina’s second successive Asian Games silver. She had also won silver at the 2023 Hangzhou Games and bronze at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang edition, taking her overall Asian Games medal tally to three.
Historic bronze for Anantjeet-Parinaaz
Indian skeet shooters Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal won a historic bronze in the mixed team event. The medal was India’s first-ever Asian Games medal in mixed team skeet. It also completed a three-medal haul for Indian skeet at the Games. Anantjeet had earlier won the men’s team bronze, while Parinaaz was part of the women’s team that also claimed bronze.
Satnam-Salman win rowing bronze
India also secured a historic bronze in men’s double sculls, with Satnam Singh and Salman Khan finishing third. The Indian pair clocked 6:13.25, finishing behind gold medallists China and silver medallists Uzbekistan.It was India’s first Asian Games medal in the men’s double sculls event.

After Thursday’s results, India moved to 15th place in the Asian Games 2026 medal standings.India’s tally stood at 17 medals – one gold, seven silver and nine bronze.China continued to lead the standings with 130 medals, including 80 gold, 30 silver and 20 bronze. Japan were second with 91 medals, while South Korea occupied third place with 50. Kazakhstan were fourth with 25 medals, followed by Uzbekistan with 26. Iran, Thailand, Hong Kong, North Korea and Bahrain completed the top 10.
