Dhurandhar advance booking and box office collection: In comparison to the biggest Bollywood hits of the year, such as Chhaava and Saiyaara, the Ranveer Singh-starrer’s advance bookings have been underwhelming so far.

Dhurandhar advance booking and box office collection: With less than 48 hours remaining for the worldwide release of director Aditya Dhar’s Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar, advance booking for the spy actioner is progressing. However, the movie has not yet gained momentum, as the figure is still below the Rs 5 crore mark, much to the makers’ concern. Despite not having any major competitors in sight, apart from director Aanand L Rai’s Tere Ishq Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, Dhurandhar hasn’t managed to capitalise on the favourable conditions so far.
As of 8 pm on Wednesday, December 3, Ranveer Singh’s film has earned only Rs 4.24 crore, including block bookings, in the domestic market, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. Excluding the block seats, Dhurandhar has minted just Rs 2.58 crore by selling 58,605 tickets across 3,305 shows. While it garnered Rs 51.6 lakh from the National Capital Region (NCR), the city of Mumbai contributed Rs 38.59 lakh to its haul. Although the movie has registered decent business in Karnataka (Rs 38.92 lakh), its overall performance in the southern region has been poor till now, as it is yet to pick up pace in the states of Telangana (Rs 12.2 lakh), Tamil Nadu (Rs 7.1 lakh), Kerala (Rs 1.7 lakh), Goa (Rs 59,060), and Andhra Pradesh (Rs 52,240).

In comparison to the biggest Bollywood hits of the year, Dhurandhar’s advance bookings have been underwhelming. While Chhaava registered an advance booking gross of Rs 17.89 crore, including block bookings, Saiyaara earned Rs 12.49 crore, and War 2 reached Rs 32.21 crore. It remains to be seen if Dhurandhar will improve its performance on Thursday. If it fails to do so, the spy actioner’s future will wholly depend on the responses following the initial shows. As per Pinkvilla, the film might open at Rs 14-18 crore, and as per Sacnilk, the film will make over Rs 15 crore on the opening day.
As Ranveer Singh’s first solo lead film in over two years, after director Karan Johar’s blockbuster romantic comedy Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), both the actor and his fans have high hopes for Dhurandhar, with some even expecting that it may emerge as his highest-grossing solo film of all time. Also starring Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun in key roles, the movie boasts music by Shashwat Sachdev, cinematography by Vikash Nowlakha, and editing by Shivkumar V Panicker.
While Padmaavat (2018), his highest-grossing film to date, registered an India nett collection of Rs 19 crore on day one and ended its theatrical run with a worldwide gross of Rs 585 crore, Simmba (2018), another major hit in his career, earned Rs 20.72 crore on its premiere day and a global gross of Rs 390 crore overall. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, meanwhile, commenced its theatrical run with Rs 11.10 crore nett and achieved a worldwide collection of Rs 357.5 crore. Dhurandhar will hit the screens on Friday, December 5.
