The West Bengal Centralised Admission Portal (WBCAP) has released the WBCAP 2026 merit list on June 9. Students who applied through the Common Admission Process (CAP) can now check the merit list on the official portal, wbcap.in, and on the websites of the respective colleges.The merit list has been prepared by individual Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) based on candidates’ Class 12 board examination marks. Along with the merit list, colleges have also issued seat allocation lists for selected candidates.Students whose names appear on the merit list can either accept the allotted seat or choose the upgradation option to be considered for a higher-preference college in the next round. To confirm admission, candidates must pay the required semester fee online within the prescribed deadline.According to the admission schedule, candidates can complete admission against the first merit list from June 9 to June 15. The upgraded round merit list and allocation list will be released on June 20, while admissions under the upgraded round will take place from June 20 to June 23.The physical verification of documents for admitted students will be conducted at the institution level between June 27 and July 4. Classes for the new academic session are scheduled to begin on July 6.

How to Check WBCAP 2026 Merit List

Students can follow these steps to download the merit list:

  • Visit wbcap.in
  • Click on the “Merit List” tab
  • Select the university and college
  • The merit list for the selected college will appear on the screen
  • Download the list and search for your name

Candidates will need their WBCAP login details to check their allotment status and seat allocation information.After the publication of the merit list, selected candidates must pay the admission fee through the respective college portal .The mop-up phase of admissions will begin with the publication of vacant seats on July 7. Applications for the mop-up round will be accepted from July 7 to July 16. The merit list for this phase will be released on July 19, followed by admissions from July 19 to July 22.An upgraded round for the mop-up phase will be conducted on July 26, with admissions continuing until July 29. Physical verification for candidates admitted through the mop-up round will take place from August 2 to August 5.
