Author and professor Matthew Hild recently published a biography titled ‘A Little More Love: The Life and Legacy of Olivia Newton-John’, in which he makes some strong claims about Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta’s relationship.
Biography claims Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta’s relationship was affected because of Scientology
The two were initially co-stars on the hit cult classic ‘Grease’, where Travolta played the role of Danny Zuko, while she played the role of Sandy Olsson. In the book, there were claims, as reported by PEOPLE, that John realized that for their relationship to last, converting to Scientology was a big aspect. As per an excerpt from the book, it was claimed that their romance never led anywhere because of his connection to the Scientology religion. “I know the Church of Scientology really reveres him as a very valuable follower. If I had married John, would he have expected me to become a Scientologist?” John had asked her bandmate years ago, as per Hild’s memoir. Her bandmate had replied by stating that “It would not have been mandatory, but it would have been encouraged, put it that way.” The bandmate in question had joined the band at the time and had been married to a known follower of Scientology. In 2018, Didi Conn, who had starred alongside the two in ‘Grease,’ had commented that they had been attracted to one another and had a great chemistry on set. While talking to Fox News, she revealed that there was something between Travolta and John on set that everyone saw.Travolta and John were never officially married; their on-screen chemistry was heavily praised on ‘Grease.’ The actor was married to Kelly Preston until her passing in 2020, while the singer married Matt Lattanzi, although the two separated in 1996. In 2008, she officially married John Easterling until her passing.
